FAQ - Art Stuff
what software & tablet do you use?
I mostly use clip studio paint, but have also used paint tool sai and procreate a fair bit. I edit with vegas 17 and stream using OBS (not the streamlabs version) on twitch and picarto. I use notion to write and plan. oh, and I use a
5x4 wacom tabletI used to use a cintiq but it was bad for my neck/back.
to draw!

can I use your art for [personal thing]?
if it's not a commission or one of my sonas, sure! but most of the art I share is of my sonas. in any case, sharing is always appreciated!!

are commissions open?
rarely! you'll know if they are, I'll be obnoxious about it :)

didn't you used to make [???]?
probably!!! check the timeline!I take breaks from mediums/projects since I do them all on my own. I used to pump out a lot of original music, for example, but it's been a couple years since I've produced or wrote anything.

...how did you make all these projects by yourself?!
I've had lotsa time!! I've been making stuff my whole life and sharing most of it online for over a decade!! I think it's important to try lots of different creative things so I'll jump around between stuff. over time that creates several backlogs.

what happened to [project]?
some older projects aren't publicly available anymore, but if you do some digging around this site (or the timeline) you might find some stuff from the archives. ;)
btw DO U KNOW ABOUT NOTION??

why do you promote notion so much?
I'm in notion's affiliate program but I've been promoting it way longer than I've been affiliated. they probably aren't thrilled that I keep telling everyone
"you don't really need to pay for it"seriously the best functions are free anyway

I just like it! for a couple years I used onenote to sort all my projects and journals and it always left me wishing it could do More- notion filled that niche really well. feels like I have multiple binders of all my info and life-schedules available across my devices. it's got a bit of a learning curve at first but once you find out how you wanna use it, it opens up into a lot of possibilities. kinda like webdev!

FAQ - Headlights
what are the headlight critters?
they're all parts of me!!

I have
OSDDOther Specified Dissociative Disorder
and find illustrating my varying states as critters helps me to express their purpose and the ways they
individualize.these are dissociated parts of the brain with their own sense of self, and are a result of enduring prolonged trauma.

their names aren't formal and they blend into one another, serving specific purposes. I call them my brain critters or headlights. they have their own interests and priorities and work together to make me "me"!

what do they create?
I make (or help make) most of the stuff that gets shared online! Comics, cartoons, silly little websites. I can spend hours on an animation or doodle, the act of creation makes me feel like me. I also like keeping things organized with a system and find creativity exists even in life-mapping! I use notion for most of that stuff. Fashion is pretty interesting too! It inspires my projects!! I love pastels and soothing color palettes with bright accents.
I'm drawn towards cryptid designs and unnerving stories with mixed signals of safety and danger, so I like to work on projects with those themes with help of the flow state. outside of the stuff on this website though, I also enjoy cooking, baking- DIY and handicrafting, sewing and altering clothes, jacket patches, etc. I like to brainstorm and make mental notes for later to pass on to my flow and pup states. Planning gifts and surprises for loved ones is a sort of creative outlet, too.
Making memories I guess! Being silly is important!! I love fun shapes and colors & dressing in brightly colored clothing. I get excited to see animals and love to make silly jokes and impromptu plans!!
catastrophizing Definitely doesn't count does it.......I'm not rly good at focus-heavy activities other than re-grounding for meditation or loosely doodle-journaling. I don't really choose any way to dress/express myself. I'm getting better at being present, I think.
what do they like & do for fun?
I make stuff!!! I also love to study psychology, sociology, and neurobiology. Trauma development & recovery are special interests. I believe there is magic in meditation and introspection. I love early mornings for doing my tasks and parallel play with my friends!
I enjoy watching stimmy content and liminal space stuff. asmr is cool. Finding comfort in the uncomfortable is important to me. I can get worked up talking about something I'm passionate about, good or bad. .I don't like being outside and I'm not very social- I'll usually try to squirm out of social events/promises made by other states that take me too far out of my comfort zone.
Exploring is a lot of fun. I like tagging along on hikes and walks, but I can come across cold or stand-offish when I'm hypervigilant. I like get-togethers- small parties preferred, big social events make me wary.. but I can get on alright in groups as a wallflower (with the help of the crow/flow state). oh- I love making and eating food. food surprises delight me. Golden hour is my favorite time, but also seeing the clouds and stars feels balancing.
I love time spent with loved ones!! I love cuddling and watching people play games. I can play along too with the help of the flow state. Group environments and parties are so much fun!
when do you tend to come out?
I'm mostly present for moments of flow state! I always forget to eat as I
don't feel the stomachdifferent headlights tend to feel more present in different body parts
. I can be a bit curt in response to frequent interruptions.
I don't front as much as I remain when the others can't front or briefly pop up for moments of high reactivity or sudden dissociation- I frequently experience derealization & depersonalization. Sometimes I enter trance and dissociate from my current activity. When RSD hits any other state, I feel it later. chronic pain that can otherwise be ignored by other states (with Flow focus) is constant for me so I gotta take more breaks.
I don't always watch over other states fronting, but I tend to spend energy keeping an eye out unless everything feels completely safe. Sudden touching makes me tense up and I do not enjoy group attention.
I feel safest fronting in my own zones like at home- but I can sometimes pop up if I'm feeling safe with my company in a new environment. if I'm close to everyone present, I love being the center of attention..!
